Art by Qi.
We designed Art by Qi as a digital canvas for contemporary Persian calligraphy and painting. The experience needed to feel elegant and restrained, giving the artwork space to breathe while guiding visitors through the collection, the artist story, and a clear path to explore or purchase.

Minimal structure, strong visual restraint, and a gallery-first presentation for the work.

ARTISTIC INTRODUCTION
A gallery-led experience shaped with calm, texture, and focus.
We approached Art by Qi as an experience that should feel closer to entering a curated exhibition than landing on a generic storefront. The interface needed to respect the artwork, not compete with it.
That meant using space deliberately, simplifying navigation, and letting typography, image rhythm, and contrast create the emotional tone. The result is quieter than a typical portfolio, but more memorable because every element supports the art.
The design needed to carry Persian artistic identity with elegance, without turning the website into ornament.
WHAT WE DESIGNED
Three decisions shaped the visual direction.
Gallery First
The layout gives artwork and calligraphy room to lead, with supporting content arranged around the collection instead of overpowering it.
Tradition, Reframed
We balanced cultural richness with a modern UI so the site feels rooted in Persian visual heritage while still contemporary and accessible.
Calm Commerce
The browsing and shop flow stay clear and measured, making it easy to discover pieces, explore details, and continue on any device.
RESPONSIVE EXPERIENCE
Built to feel composed on mobile, not just reduced.
Artwork-heavy websites often break down on smaller screens when spacing, hierarchy, and image ratios are treated as secondary. We designed this experience to keep the same sense of calm and clarity across desktop, tablet, and mobile, with CTAs and navigation placed deliberately instead of pushed in as afterthoughts.
Readable pacing
Sections shorten well on smaller screens without losing the story behind the work.
Flexible imagery
Large visuals scale cleanly while preserving rhythm, framing, and breathing room.
Clear navigation
Visitors can move from introduction to collection to shop without friction or clutter.
OUTCOME
A case study that presents Art by Qi as agency work with a refined artistic lens.
The result is a stronger portfolio presentation for Art by Qi: more intentional project framing, a clearer explanation of the artistic direction, and a cleaner bridge from Qi Public's portfolio to the live website. It reads as advertising-agency work shaped for an art-driven brand, not as a generic project summary.
